Purpose

The Texas Organization for Associate Degree Nursing was established to advance the status of the Associate Degree Nurse in education and in practice.

TOADN is affiliated with the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (NOADN).

Goals

The Texas Organization for Associate Degree Nursing strives to:

  1. Ensure continued eligibility for registered nurse licensure for graduates of associate degree programs.
  2. Support research and study focused on the impact of associate degree nursing in improving health care.
  3. Disseminate data reflecting the positive impact of associate degree nursing on health care.
  4. Build and foster relationships that support the Associate Degree in Nursing as a vital entry level into professional nursing practice.
  5. Promote the professional development of Associate Degree Nursing educators and students.
