Thomas J. Barry graduated from San Antonio College in 1982. His professional experience includes holding several positions as an operating room nurse and currently is the administrator of Healthsouth Surgery Center of Pecan Valley in San Antonio, Texas. He holds accreditation from the National Certification Board of Perioperative Nursing and the American Heart Association ACLS. Thomas is a presently a Lieutenant Colonel in United States Air Force Reserves: 433rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He has completed the Flight Nurse Course through the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine (1991) and the Squadron Officer School Correspondence Course at Air University in 1995. |
As Chief Flight Nurse and Chief of Training Thomas has served the country in several operations including deployments to Andrews AFB, MD in 1991 DESERT STORM, Taszar Air Base, Hungary 1996 Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR, Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait 2000 Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, Seeb North Air Base, Sultanate of Oman 2001 Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Shahbaz Air Base Jacobabad, Pakistan 2002 Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Tallil Air Base, Iraq 2003 Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Camp Wolf Kuwait City International Airport, and Kuwait 2003 Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Thomas presented "Aeromedical Evacuation from Taszar Air Base, Hungary during Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR" at the 1997 Annual Convention of the Aerospace Medical Association in May 1997 in Chicago, Illinois. |
